Your Corporate Carbon Footprint, Calculated Automatically

Transform your energy, water, and waste consumption data into actionable carbon emissions insights — powered by AI data collection, the GHG Protocol methodology, and automatic RES (renewable energy) deductions. The calculated footprint feeds directly into B3 Energy & GHG Emissions of your VSME-aligned report — what you measure here becomes what you disclose.

From Raw Data to Carbon Insights

Your carbon footprint is calculated automatically — no spreadsheets, no manual formulas. Just upload your documents and let the platform do the work.

    Step 1

    Collect Data via AI Scanner

Upload utility bills, fuel invoices, or waste reports. Our AI extracts consumption values, units, and periods automatically — or enter data manually.

    Step 2

    Automatic CO₂e Calculation

ESGdesk™ applies country-specific emission factors from 33 EEA+ countries to convert your consumption data into kgCO₂e emissions in real time.

    Step 3

    RES Deduction

On-site renewable energy (solar, wind, bioenergy) is automatically deducted from electricity emissions using scientific country-specific capacity factors. Only the consumed portion counts — no over-crediting.

    Step 4

    Report & Compare

View your carbon footprint on the analytics dashboard, compare periods year-over-year, and export results to PDF and CSV reports.

    Five Emission Sources, One Dashboard

ESGdesk™ tracks CO₂e emissions across all major consumption categories relevant to corporate ESG reporting.

    Electricity

kWh → kgCO₂e (country-specific). RES offsets deducted automatically.

    Feeds VSME B3 — Energy & GHG Emissions (B3)

    Natural Gas

    kWh → kgCO₂e (0.204 factor)

    Feeds VSME B3 — Energy & GHG Emissions (B3)

    Vehicle & Heating Fuel

    Liters → kgCO₂e (Petrol 2.310 · Diesel 2.680 · LPG 1.610)

    Feeds VSME B3 — Energy & GHG Emissions (B3)

    Water

    m³ → kgCO₂e (0.344 factor)

    Feeds VSME B6 — Water & Marine Resources (B6)

    Waste

    kg → kgCO₂e (mixed/segregated/hazardous)

Feeds VSME B7 — Resource Use, Circular Economy & Waste (B7)

GHG Protocol Location-Based Method + RES Deductions

All calculations follow the Greenhouse Gas Protocol location-based method, using national grid average emission factors for electricity. On-site renewable energy sources (solar, wind, bioenergy) are automatically deducted from electricity emissions — only the consumed portion (min of production vs. consumption) counts as RES offset, ensuring no over-crediting. ESGdesk™ covers 33 EEA+ countries with specific factors, with an EU-average fallback for other regions.

Everything You Need for Carbon Management

A complete toolkit that turns consumption data into strategic carbon intelligence for your organisation.

    AI-Powered Data Collection

Upload utility bills and invoices — our AI scanner extracts consumption data and immediately shows the CO₂e impact before you even save.

    • Real-time CO₂e preview during document scanning
    • Automatic unit normalisation and period detection
    • Multi-month invoice support with pro-rata distribution
    • RES production automatically reduces net electricity emissions

    Period & Location Comparison

Compare your carbon footprint across years, quarters, or custom periods — always apple-to-apple with matched month spans.

    • Year-over-year emissions trend analysis
    • Custom "Compare to" period with locked month span
    • Filter by location to drill down into site-level emissions
    • Track RES offset impact across comparison periods

    Analytics Dashboard

Interactive KPI cards, stacked charts by emission source, and intensity metrics give you a complete picture of your carbon performance.

    • Total emissions (tCO₂e) and carbon intensity per FTE
    • Monthly breakdown by source (electricity, gas, fuel, water, waste)
    • Electricity share of total emissions donut chart
    • RES production vs. consumption and net emission savings KPIs

    Integrated ESG Reporting

Carbon footprint data flows directly into your ESG internal report as a dedicated chapter — ready for PDF, CSV, and stakeholder presentations.

    • Dedicated B3 Energy & GHG Emissions chapter inside the VSME Basic Module report (B1–B11)
    • ESG Financial Performance metrics (Carbon Productivity, Intensity)
    • PDF and CSV exports with per-location emission breakdown
    • RES deductions transparently shown in carbon footprint chapter

    Why Carbon Footprint Management Matters

Effective carbon tracking is no longer optional — it is a strategic advantage for businesses navigating ESG requirements.

    Data Accuracy

Eliminate spreadsheet errors with automated calculations using verified emission factors.

    Reduction Targets

Identify your highest-emitting sources and track progress towards sustainability goals.

    Stakeholder Trust

Provide transparent, auditable emission data to investors, clients, and regulators.

    CSRD Readiness

Build the data foundation required for CSRD and ESRS climate-related disclosures. Reports are built on the EFRAG Voluntary SME (VSME) Basic Module, the most widely adopted voluntary standard for SMEs preparing for CSRD/ESRS or responding to value-chain requests.

    How Organisations Use This Data

From internal strategy to external reporting — carbon footprint data supports critical business decisions.

Internal sustainability reports for board-level review
ESG disclosures for investors and financial institutions
Setting and monitoring emission reduction targets
Benchmarking location performance and identifying inefficiencies
Preparing structured data for CSRD / ESRS readiness
Responding to supply chain sustainability questionnaires
    Scientific Methodology

Location-Based Method with 33 Country Factors

ESGdesk™ uses electricity emission factors specific to each country's energy grid mix, covering all 33 EEA+ member states. For other regions, an EU-average fallback of 0.238 kgCO₂e/kWh is applied. On-site renewable energy sources (solar via PVGIS yield data, wind and bioenergy via capacity factors) are deducted from gross electricity emissions — only the consumed portion (min of production vs. consumption) counts, ensuring scientifically accurate net emissions. Gas, fuel, water, and waste use universal factors aligned with international reporting standards. The methodology dataset is revised and updated annually by ESGdesk based on the latest available sources.

Total CO₂e = Σ (Activity Data × Emission Factor)

Where Activity Data is your measured consumption (kWh, L, m³, kg) and Emission Factor is the CO₂e conversion rate per unit.
